Hero MotoCorp and Harley-Davidson have introduced a new top-spec version of their co-developed X440 motorcycle. Called the X440 T, this new variant is priced at Rs 2.79 lakh (ex-showroom) and now sits above the Vivid and S trims. The idea behind this update is simple: even with the recent GST 2.0 changes that increased taxes on bikes above 350cc, the brands want to keep pricing steady while adding more technology, style, and excitement to the X440 lineup.

New Design

The most noticeable update on the X440 T is at the rear. Hero and Harley have redesigned the tail section, giving the bike a sharper and more premium look. The gap between the rear fender and the wheel appears more proportionate now, which adds to its visual appeal. The bike also gets new grab rails along with fresh graphics and four new colours — Pearl White, Vivid Black, Pearl Red, and Pearl Blue.

New Graphics and Colours

With its updated paint schemes and redesigned rear end, the X440 T feels more refined than before. As part of the update, the earlier Denim variant with wire-spoke wheels has been discontinued, and alloy wheels are now standard across the range. The X440 T also stands out because of its bar-end mirrors, which give it a sportier and more modern character.

Ride-by-Wire Throttle

Technology lovers will appreciate the upgrades on this variant. The X440 T becomes the first in the lineup to offer ride-by-wire throttle, giving the bike more precise response. It also introduces two riding modesRoad and Rain — allowing riders to adjust the bike’s behaviour based on conditions. In addition, the bike comes with switchable ABS and switchable traction control, features that make it more versatile and confidence-inspiring.

Panic Braking Feature

Harley-Davidson has added a new panic braking feature to enhance safety. When the rider brakes suddenly, the turn indicators flash automatically, alerting traffic behind. Apart from this addition, the main cycle parts remain unchanged. The setup includes USD front forks, twin rear shock absorbers, 18-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels, and single disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS.

440cc Single-Cylinder Oil-Cooled Engine

Powering the X440 T is the familiar 440cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine. It produces 27 bhp and 38 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Due to the new features, its weight has gone up slightly by 1.5 kg, bringing the total to 192 kg. The bike continues to offer the TFT instrument cluster, LED lighting, and other features that have been appreciated since the original launch.

Final Thoughts

The Hero-Harley X440 T strengthens the X440 lineup with improved styling, added tech, and features aimed at modern riders. By keeping the price unchanged while offering meaningful upgrades, Hero and Harley have positioned the X440 T as a more attractive option in the premium single-cylinder segment. For riders who want classic roadster character with new-age features, this new variant delivers a well-rounded package.
